Set in 9 acres of grounds, five miles from South Molton, a wonderful local little town full of character. It boasts a twice weekly market and a sheep market, along with a range of local shops, butchers, post office and a medium sized Sainsburys Supermarket. The cottage is ideally located for exploring some of Devon’s most popular attractions. Take a tour of Bickleigh Castle, stroll along the towpath beside the Grand Western Canal, enjoy a fun day out at Crealy Adventure Park, discover the wonderful world of bees at Quince Honey Farm and explore the delights of Hartland, Clovelly, Appledore and Instowe. The nearby Tarka Trail offers miles of traffic-free cycling, while Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks provide breath-taking natural scenery and a host of stunning walks, cycles or horse rides. Fishing is available in the nearby Exe and Taw rivers and various local trout farms. The stunning and award winning beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe, Putsborough and Ilfracombe are within approx 30 minutes drive where you can get access to a wide range of activities including surfing, body boarding, paddle boarding and kite surfing.
Inside, the barn's open-plan accommodation adds a feeling of space and light with a mezzanine level overlooking the kitchen and dining area below. In the contemporary kitchen you will find a double oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave and island unit for sociable cooking. Enjoy meals at the dining table beyond before heading upstairs to the mezzanine lounge area, which features a TV/DVD and far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Also on the first floor is a spacious king-size bedroom with wooden flooring, sloping ceilings and an en-suite shower room and WC. A twin bedroom and further double with en-suite shower room are located on the ground floor together with a family bathroom with shower over the bath.
Outside, a pretty courtyard garden with garden furniture and a BBQ has been beautifully stocked with pot plants and hanging baskets to create a pleasant and relaxing space for al fresco meals. The games barn, opposite, houses a pool table, small snooker table, table tennis table, dart board, selection of children’s games and Table football table for keeping all guests entertained. The lower field is the perfect place for a lazy stroll to take in the views and enjoy the surrounding peace and fresh air of the countryside.
